Human efforts are complemented by Divine Providence. This is how Mark [whose feast day we celebrate today] ends his gospel. The apostles were sent... and the Lord "worked with them." We, human beings, are finite. Our capacity is limited and our efforts are bound to fail. Nevertheless, we are not deterred by our imperfection. We take the mission laid upon our weak shoulders. We do our part and we give it our best believing that God will do the rest. |
