What is important is not the applause when we come but the memory we leave behind. How is memory perpetuated? When people remember our good deeds, the memory lives. Today's gospel assures us. We will never be forgotten. The Lord does not wish to lose us. He keeps us in his memory. Even if people forget us, the Lord will always remember us. God's eternal memory surpasses human remembrance. |
