Despair darkens one's vision and orientation. Those who are getting depressed barely see the light of day. In today's gospel, Jesus declares that he is the light and that those who believe in him will not remain in darkness. Light is a predominant motif in the Johannine gospel. The prologue introduces the Word as the Light. Today's world darknened by COVID-19 needs to turn to Jesus to find in him a ray of light. Let's allow the light of Christ to shine brightly and clear the dark path that we desperately tread. |
