At the cathedral we find the bishop's chair. The Greek "kathedra" means "chair." Today is the Feast of the Chair of Peter symbolizing the Petrine office entrusted upon the Supreme Pontiff. While some Catholics [and regrettably even some Church dignitaries] question the pope and his teachings, still the Holy Father stands as the center of unity of the whole Catholic Church, the church founded on the solid rock that truly withstood the test of time. |
