One has to die in order to give life. Today's gospel talks about the grain of wheat that dies to produce much fruit. It refers to Jesus whose death brought life to humanity. We, Christians, are called to partake of the mission of Christ to save the world. We need to experience self-dying in order to make others live. It entails making sacrifices, forgetting one's convenience and saying No to oneself. Die first, then be a giver of life. |
