During this lockdown, we realized we don't need a mansion. We only need the essential goods. We need God, above all. Today's gospel speaks of the "indwelling" of God. The Greek "monai" refers not to a physical room but to God's abiding or dwelling in us. When we have God, everything else fades in significance. Today, in the midst of mortal threat, we only wish one thing-- to dwell in the house and in the heart of the Lord. |
