A wayward child is still loved by the parents. It is in this context that we will understand the meaning of the words, "For God so loved the WORLD..." The "world" refers to the people who do not accept Jesus and are at enmity with him. Despite such attitude, the world is still loved by the Lord. We are unfaithful but God loves us unconditionally. We make Jesus our enemy but he makes us his friends. What a humbling experience! |
