"Touch me and see." If we can touch and see something, it is real. That was how the Risen Lord challenged his apostles who were incredulous, people who thought they were seeing a ghost. Before them was Jesus who rose from the dead. He was alive. He had flesh. He could eat and he ate in their sight. We participate in the Eucharist. We see the Bread, the Body of Christ. We are allowed to touch it. Yes, he is really present. That is surely beyond doubt. |
