It is not as simple as this: You take communion and you will enjoy eternal life. Even if Jesus promised us that whoever eats the Bread will live forever, it is not automatic that communion brings us to heaven where life is everlasting. We have to work for it. An earthly life in communion with God and with one another is necessary. Love of God and love of neighbor are conditions "sine qua non." Receive the Bread and live its challenge in order to have eternal life. |
