By this time, I can already address all the daily churchgoers [in our parish] by their respective names. It is clear to me that as a shepherd of the parochial flock, I ought to know each one of my constituents. The gospel says so. The Good Shepherd knows the sheep and calls each one by name. Every leader should do that. We don't have the right to exercise leadership if we do not know those entrusted to our care. |
