Call it tranquility. Call it serenity. Call it what you want but I call it "peace." If there is one thing that satisfies human longing, that thing we call "peace." In today's gospel, Jesus does not only promise peace. He gives it. Who can receive the gift of peace? Not the one who is enslaved by the flesh. Neither the one who holds anger in his heart. Peace comes to those who have pure desires. Peace is enjoyed by those who have God in their lives. Nothing more! Nothing less! |
