Both the words "Advocate" and "Paraclete" speak of the role of the Holy Spirit as "one who stands at the side of another as a defense lawyer." We need not fear even if persecution comes because the Holy Spirit will stand by our side and defend us against persecutors. We will never be wanting in what to say to defend our faith. It is the Holy Spirit who will give us the wisdom and courage. Yes, we have a lawyer right here beside us. |
