It is ironic that we accept God and profess our faith in him but transgress his commandments. In today's gospel, Jesus speaks of those who are "against" him
and "for" him. We can't be both. The Lord unequivocally says, "For whoever is not against us is for us." Our first "Yes" at baptism is renewed daily. We renew our baptismal commitment and promise to be for Jesus always. Such firm decision entails saying No to the enticements of the evil one.
