Another idiom-- "Cut to the chase." It means "Go straight to the point." That's how Bartimaeus appealed to Jesus. "Lord, I want to see." I wonder why some of our liturgical prayers are so verbose. Why don't we cut to the chase?" After all, God knows what we want and what we need. In praying we don't need to utter so much words. The Lord understands us as he reads our hearts. We are "blind," so, we need to see. Cut to the chase. |
