We should ascribe to Jesus the respect that is due his name. We must honor him. We ought to worship him. In the parable of today's gospel, the owner of the vineyard expected that his son would be respected. He was mistaken. Those who envied the son as heir strangled him to death. No honor. No respect. Which mirrors our own lack of respect for the Lord. We receive his Body unworthily. We tarnish his Body, the Church. So sad! |
