Build bridges, not walls. Yes, life is at its best when we make friends instead of enemies. Today's gospel exhorts us to take the initiative in getting reconciled with an "opponent." It is not to be taken literally that we wiil leave the temple and get back. It's too impractical and really a waste of time. It simply means we have to initiate the act of reconciling with someone we have wronged (or has wronged us). In so doing, we build bridges, we gain friends. |
