It must be YES. It must be NOW. That is how we are to respond to God's call. In today's gospel, a man called by Jesus wanted to delay his response. He wanted to bury first his father. To which Jesus replied "Let the [spiritually] dead bury their [physically] dead. We, too, tend to postpone our decision to follow the Lord. We are inclined to say, "Yes, Lord but not yet..." Jesus does not take NO or LATER for an answer. It must be YES... right NOW. |
