I grew up in a simple house surrounded by a fishpond. I knew the day of "harvest" when all sorts of fish are harvested, the good ones gathered for sale and the bad ones separated for throwing. In Hebrew, "qazir" is the time of harvest. God judges the world, separating the good from the evil. This harvest, according to the gospel, is abundant and enormous. The laborers are scarce. We need people to accomplish this task. We need more priests. We need "fishers" of men. |
