Childlike. Its Greek rendition "nepioi" refers either to the children/little ones or the disciples. In both cases there is an element of lowliness and humility in contrast to pride. Only the humble and the lowly can inherit the kingdom of heaven. When we wallow in arrogance and conceit, believing that we don't depend on anyone and anything, heaven is beyond our reach. When we bow down in humility, heaven is a handgrip. |
