A popular song says, "I just called to say I LOVE YOU." What a consoling gesture! What a touching utterance! People were earlier given food by Jesus. They looked at Jesus as provider of bread. In today's gospel, they came to the Lord to be fed anew. This reflects our motive for prayer. We come to Jesus to beg for material blessing. That doesn't please the Lord at all. He is happier if we say, "I just came to say I LOVE YOU." |
