Proper perspective is very important. Jesus' words can be misunderstood if taken from a wrong perspective. We eat his Body in the Eucharistic celebration but we die just the same. Where is his promise that those who eat his Body and drink his Blood shall never die? Lest we are misled, the life spoken of by Jesus is eternal. The Bread offers everlasting life. Yes, ordinary bread does not stop us from passing on. It is this Bread from heaven that brings us there. |
