Duplicity weakens credibility. You will never believe a person who says one thing but does another. Without guile, without duplicity. -- That's how Jesus describes Nathanael (Johannine) who is also referred to as Bartholomew (Synoptics). No-holds-bar. What he thinks he declares, "Is there any good that comes from Nazareth?" At times we sacrifice our principle because of fear of criticism. That is duplicity. Painful truth is better than pleasing lies. - |
