A Litany of hypocrisy! Several times Jesus chided his adversaries with these words, "Woe to you...hypocrites." However painful the same words may be addressed to us who, in more ways than one" live a hypocritical life. "Hypocrite" comes from a Greek word that means "actor's mask." Yes, our real person is covered by a deceptive mask making us appear good but in reality full of dirt inside. Would that we were sincere and true. |
