A famous maxim in Latin : "Bonum diffusivum sui." True indeed, good is self-diffusive. Naturally, good diffuses itself. Today's gospel is very picturesque. The light that comes from a burning lamp is self-diffusive. It lightens the entire house. Holy people also shed light to others. St. Padre Pio did that in his lifetime. His fifty years (1918-1968) of stigmata brought excruciating pain but served as odor of sanctity, giving light and hope to those in darkness and despair. Such lamp of holiness! |
