Why pray in a hurry? How can we feel what we are saying if we make it so fast? The Lord's Prayer is the most beautiful prayer. It was taught by Jesus himself. It reveals his intimate relationship with his Father. It invites us to call God, Our Father, in the spirit of filial trust. But why does praying tend to be mechanical and devoid of serious contemplation? We become like talking birds. I always tell people to slowly pray it. Meditative. Truly intimate and meaningful. |
