"I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord THE GIVER OF LIFE." The Nicene Creed says it well. It is the mission of the Spirit to give life. When Jesus breathed on the disciples, he gave them the Spirit. The Latin "Spiritus" and the Greek "Pneuma" or the Hebrew "Ruah" all refer to "wind or breath" and therefore, speak of "life." As we celebrate this Pentecost, let us be grateful for the gift of LIFE and take the mission of living well and giving life to others. |
