The senators were debating on the meaning of "forthwith." We know, of course, what the word really means. Let's talk about "hatred" and "fury." The former is slow-burning. The latter is explosive. But both are destructive. In today's gospel, Jesus used the word anger that can result to killing or is similar to killing. Yes, if our anger is intense, we can strangle someone to death. That is why we should not allow anger to rule us. The antidote is forgiveness as exemplified by Jesus, the Eternal Priest. |
