It's what we have given and not what we have received. Yes, we can store up treasures IN HEAVEN if we renounce riches ON EARTH. That is implied in today's gospel. Why should we care about earthly treasures which moth and decay destroy? They are baggages making our heavenly journey tedious. They are extra loads that weigh us down. Only love is necessary to reach heaven. It is not what we hold with our hands but what we carry with our hearts. |
