Genuine piety is not lip service. We honor God not so much with what we say but what we do. The gospel is clear. Not everyone who says 'Lord, Lord' will enter heaven but those who do God's will. When our prayer does not spring from the heart and doesn't match our behavior, we become clashing cymbals. Our worship is reduced to a meaningless gesture. True holiness that blends prayer and action is the one that is most pleasing to God. |
