You are blessed if you see your children's children. While the Bible is silent, an ancient tradition dating back to the 2nd century, introduced Sts. Joachim and Anne as the parents of Mary and therefore, grandparents of Jesus. Whether or not they were still alive when Jesus was born, they must have rejoiced in "seeing what others did not see" even in the eyes of faith that they treasured and handed over. |
