The moment we lose sight of Jesus we will begin to sink. This is exactly the scenario in today's gospel. Peter could walk at the beginning but when frightened by the waves, he lost his focus. He was no longer gazing on Jesus and found himself sinking. We should not allow tribulations to distract our attention. Let us stay focused on the Lord. With our eyes and hearts fixed on Jesus, we shall brave the winds and the waves of life. |
