Christian life is not a bed of roses. To be a disciple of Christ is to tread the via crucis. In today's gospel, the disciples were overwhelmed with grief upon hearing that Jesus would suffer and die. They never thought that their Messiah would be crucified. How do we deal with the ups and downs of Christian discipleship? Are we ready to embrace both the joy of sunny days and the sorrow of gloomy nights? |
