Whether or not Mary died remains a theological question. It is because "Munificentissimus Deus" was not categorical in saying that she "completed her earthly life." But such question matters little. What is important is the fact that the Blessed Virgin was assumed into heaven, body and soul, and that is due to her being the Mother of God. She loved (Visitation) and gave thanks to God (Magnificat). Thus, she taught us how to go to heaven. |
