Hyperbole may sound strange and absurd but it can still impart a message. The image of the camel passing through the eye of a needle simply means that it is extremely difficult. Yes, it is difficult but always possible. A rich man can still enter heaven. If he renounces his wealth and lovingly shares it with the less privileged, heaven is a handgrip. Sts. Francis and Claire gave up all their material possessions to follow Jesus. They have stored treasures in heaven. |
