If we are to make a choice, let our choice be in favor of the poor. Today's gospel values the less fortunate. They deserve a place in the banquet we prepare. Even in the Old Testament Yahweh had a special predilection for the "anawim." When PCP-II envisioned a Church of the Poor, it challenged us to care for the poor and consider them agents of evangelization. Do you have a heart for the poor? If so, you are truly blessed. |
