History bears constant testimony to the enmity between the good and the evil one. Today's gospel narrates how the devil wrestles with Jesus. He was trying to take control of the Lord but failed. In the end, it was Jesus who was victorious. He drove the evil spirit away. The conflict is ongoing. It is between us and the devil. The latter will leave no stone unturned trying to destroy us. Let us call upon the Lord. Let his power assist us in overthrowing the devil. |
