24 September: You cannot add more to what is already full. Providence requires emptiness. When Jesus instructed his apostles not to worry about "walking stick, sack, food, money and second tunic," he was training them to rely on Divine Providence. They must experience nothingness in order to be filled with God's grace. Remember the wedding at Cana. The wine had to run out first before water can be turned into wine. -- Msgr. Andro |
