Faultfinding is anti-Christian. While fraternal correction positively aims at transforming an erring person, faultfinding tramples on one's dignity by wishing his misfortune and shame. The scribes and Pharisees were closely following Jesus to catch him at something he might say. Obviously there was an evil intent. God doesn't wish the sinner to die but be converted and live. We, too, should save the face of a brother instead of harming him. |
