I was a witness to a friend's great embarrassment. He asked a VIP, "Do you remember me?"only to hear this response, "NO!" The gospel narrates the same embarrassing utterance, "I do not know where you are from!" Despite repeated claims of encounter, the master of the house vehemently denied having met them. At the end times, we cannot tell God we attended Masses (if we persisted in sins). Bluntly he will tell us, "I do not know you." |
