It is the spirit of the law that matters most, not its letter.Legalistic as they were, the Pharisees were carefully observing Jesus to see if he would cure on a Sabbath. Jesus did and gave them a lesson. Above all, it is the well-being of a person that counts most, not the letter of the law. The Filipiho expression "TAO muna" says it all." We don.'t forget the basic definition of law. It is an ordinance of reason promulgated "for the common good." |
