Having only two seasons, we, Filipinos, hardly feel and understand the varying feelings brought by the changing seasons of autumn, winter, spring and summer. Today's gospel describes the joy of welcoming summer signalled by the burst of the tree buds. How easy it was for people to interpret the seasons but they fail to read the signs of fhe times and the tangible indications of the coming of God's kingdom. Forget the gloom of winter. Face the joyful spring of new life. |
