Happy New Year! Yes, today is the threshold of a new liturgical calendar. The Season of Advent begins and the word of God reminds us to be awake and ready. When Jesus says out of two men working in the fields and two women grinding, only "one will be taken," He was referring to those who did their work well and are, therefore, taken to be given eternal reward. We ask ourselves, "Are we truly ready to meet the Lord who comes at a time unknown to us? |
