Even if we say, "Praise the Lord," if our hearts are far from him, we will not be saved. Salvation is only for those who hear the word of God and act upon it. Today's gospel makes it clear. There are many people whose prayer is only a lip service. They utter words but do not feel them as coming from their hearts. Some theologians and preachers talk about God but they do not talk to him. Such meaningless utterances! Less words. More actions. They please God. |
