A joyful person is also grateful. Yes, joy ends in gratitude. In today's gospel, Mary was invited by the angel to rejoice [in Greek "chaire"] to which she gave her joyful Fiat. The following pericope narrates that Mary sang her Magnificat to give thanks to God who "has done great things in her." The end of 2025 is drawing nigh. It is high time we gather our memories of the blessing bestowing wed upon us and give thanks to God. We do that with joyful and grateful hearts. |
