Unity in diversity. Healthy pluralism. These concepts are not paradoxical. We can be diverse in ways but united in purpose. In today's gospel, Jesus prayed for unity. "Ut unum sint." How can we be one if we have varying views? Unity is not synonymous with uniformity. We may disagree in approach but we come up with the same end-result. Our minds may create division but our hearts beating in love foster union. |
