When we, priests, deliver our homily, we address the congregation with these words,"My dear brothers and sisters ..." Are these people members of our respective families? No and Yes! By blood they are not. By spiritual affinity they are. Today's gospel elucidates. Jesus himself says those who listen to his word and act upon it are his brother, sister snd mother. Clearly, spirituality transcends blood relationship. With God as our Common Father, we belong to one family. |
