Yesterday we reflected on the bishop's pastoral duty of correcting an erring flock. He and the other leaders in the Church must have the boldness of John the Baptist. Even of their fiery teaching arouses anger in the hearts of constituents, even if it causes their death, they should stand pat. Courage is the necessary mark of a leader in faith. There is no room for cowardice and fear of death. They should call a spade a spade. |
