"No holds barred." This expression means "candid and unrestricted." A statement may be painful but it must be said. Jesus displayed such courage when he confronted the Jews and called them "liar." Fiipinos love euphemism. Many lack the tenacity to call a spade a spade. Let us master the audacity to tell the truth even if it hurts as long as we desire the good of the concerned. Let us always remember: A hurtful truth is better than a consoling lie.
