Today, May 14, 2026, marks a historic occasion as devotees, parishioners, public servants, visiting faithful, and the entire community of Saint Louis Parish, Bishop of Tolosa, joyfully gathered for the Solemn Declaration of the Parish Church of San Luis Obispo as the Diocesan Shrine of Saint Isidore the Farmer (San Isidro Labrador).
The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by the Most Reverend Mel Rey M. Uy, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Lucena, together with Bishop Emeritus Most Reverend Emilio Marquez, D.D., and guest bishop, Most Reverend Euginius CaƱete, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Gumaca, concelebrated by visiting priests and deacons.
This grace-filled occasion stands as a testament to the deep faith and devotion of the people to San Isidro Labrador, patron of farmers and laborers. May this newly proclaimed Diocesan Shrine continue to be a beacon of faith, hope, and unity for all pilgrims and devotees.
To God be all the glory!
Viva San Isidro Labrador!
