We never learn. That's the irony of life. We have God as our Teacher. He constantly teaches us. The gospel echoes the words of the Old Testsment, "They will be taught by God." How come we still are ignorant? It seems we have never learned the lessons taught to us. We need the wisdom coming from God. And we must humbly ask for that gift. St. James has this to say, "If any of you is without wisdom, let him ask it from God... and it shall be given him" (James 1:5). |
